A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE ELK GROVE FESTIVAL CHORUS
WHEREAS, The Elk Grove Festival Chorus is an interfaith 70 voice choral
group, consisting of members from the combined church and choral groups of
Elk Grove Village, and
WHEREAS, the first interfaith•C:oncert was organized by the Elk Grove
Village Human Relations Committee and presented on May 23, 196; at The Queen
of the Rosary Catholic Church in Elk Grove Village and faiths of Catholic,
Jewish, Baptist, Methodist, Episcopal and Lutheran were represented, and
WHEREAS, The Elk Grove Festival Chorus is directed by Anthony Mostardo
and accompanied by Joanne Kalina anc with an instrumental group of local
adult and high school volunteers, and
WHEREAS, The Elk Grove Festival Chorus have enhanced the cultural act-
ivities of the Northwest Suburbs by their musical presentations, and recently
presented the ''German Requiem'' with the Northwest Symphony Orchestra, and
later presented selections from the ''Student Prince'' accompanied by Louise
Canary, in one of the highlights of musical endeavors ever presented in the
Northwest Suburbs.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees
of the Village of Elk Grove Village, that the Elk Grove Festival Chorus is
hereby commended and extended our praise and appreciation for bringing
enjoyment and a better understanding and acceptance of faiths to our community.
