A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE U.S. ENVIRONENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY
ENFORCING AIRCRAFT i101SE STANDARDS, H.R..11021
WHEREAS, a great portion of the Village of Elk Grove Village, County
of Cool:, State of Illinois is plagued by unacceptable aircraft noise, and
WHEREAS, the Federal Aviation �1.drninisti-ation has taken no initiative
in the establishment of effective noise stonclards relating to jet aircraft,
as authorized by the Federal Governrent in the Federal Aviation Act of 1958,
and
WHEREAS, the Envirorrm-ental Protection Agency has taken stops to protect
the general public in other areas,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED; that the Village of Elk Grove Village,
County of Cook and State of Illinois does hereby support and endorse the
opinion of the O'Hare Area Noise Abatement Council, which requests that H.R.
11021 include aircraft noise standards and assign the responsibility for the
establishment of same to the Environmental Protection Agency.
