RESOLU`1_,ION COMMENDING THE COO;t COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT ON THE
RFCON.`';'IRUCTION AND WIDENING OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS ROAD FROM HIGGINS
ROAD 'i'O COSMAN ROAD IN THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE. , ILLINOIS
WHEREAS the Village of Elk Grove Village had actively requested
the reconstruction and widening of Arlington Heights Road from Higgins
Road to Devon Avenue , and ,
WHEREAS the Village of Elk Grove Village had actively cooperated
with the Cook County Highway Department to accelerate the improvement
of Arlington Heights Road, and,
111JEREAS -1L-h(-, Cook County Board of Commissioners and the Cook
County Iiig;bray Department responded favorably with an action program
and contract dor the widening and improvement of Arlington Heights
Road from Higgins Road to Salt Creek by completing engineering drawings
and awarding contracts for construction. work, and,
WHEREAS the County Highway Department retained the Rock Road
Construction Company as the primary contractor for the improvement
of Arlington Heights Road as aforementioned described, and,
WHEREAS the Contractor , Rock Road Construction Co . , began
construction activity in late Fall , 1971 on underground work and
in the Spring of 1972 on surface improvements to the roadway, and,
WHEREAS the Cook County Highway Department and its personnel ,
in close cooperation with the contractor, Rock Road Construction,
and appropriate Village Officials , proceeded to execute the con-
struction project in a diligent workmanship and expedient manner ,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of
Trustees of the Village of Elk GROVE VILLAGE that the Cook County
President and Board of Commissioners and the Cook County Highway
Department and Rock Road Construction Company be and are hereby
commended for having undertaken and completed in an efficient
and workmanlike manner the completion of the northern half of the
Arlington Heights Road Improvement Program in the Village of Elk
Grove Village ,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Board of:
Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village publicly compliment
the Cook County Ilighway Department and its contractor , Pock Road
Construction Company, for having successfully completed the
project in spiteof many adverse conditions including four (4)
major rainstorms and two (2) major strikes in the construction
industry.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Cook County Highway
Department and Rock Road Construction Company be complimented for
having accomplished this important improvement within the anticipated
and planned time schedule established in the contracting procedures
of the County government ,
BE IT- FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be sent
to the Cook County President and Board of Trustees , the Cook County
Highway Department and Rock Road Construction Company, Paddock
Publications and other appropriate news media.
This Resolution having been adopted on this �.2: — day

expression of appreciation by the Village of Elk Grove Village
for a job well done in rebuilding the north half of Arlington
Heights Road.
