A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS OF THE U.S. , DEPARTMENT
OF ILLINOIS, "DAY OF PRIDE".
WHEREAS, the citizens of our Country infrequently demonstrate their
support and gratitude for the millions of American servicemen and women,
who unselfishly made many great sacrifices to protect the -self determin-
ation of America and our allies, and
WHEREAS , the 21st day of October, 1972 is to be declared a "Day of
Pride" in the American form of government and in America, and
WHEREAS, this"Day of PRIDE"is dedicated to bringing about a just and
honorably conclusion to the Vietnamese Conflict , and
WHEREAS, this "Day of Pride" is also dedicated to the American service-
men and women who have made gallant sacrifices in conflicts on behalf of
our Country.
NOW, THEREFORE QBE IT RESOLVED that the general public support the
"Day of Pride" by attending a parade followed by a rally in Chicago on
October 21 , 1y7l to demonstrate their pride of America.
BE IT FURIHER RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Trustees of
the Village of Ell: Grove Village do hereby support the Veterans of Foreign
Wars of the U. S. "Day of Pride" as hereabove described, and resolve that
this resolution sl-,ail be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval according to law.
