AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6 VILLAGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES
OF TITLE 1 OF THE VILLAGE CODE BY AMENDING THE SALARY
PROVISIONS OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES EFFECTIVE AFTER THE 2009
ELECTION
BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Elk
Grove Village Counties of.Cook and DuPage Illinois as follows:
SECTION 1: That Section 1-6-1 Election; Term; Functions of Chapter 6 Village
Board of Trustees be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:
1-6-1 Election; Term; Functions; Oath: The Board of Trustees, consisting of
six (6) members, shall be elected from the municipality in at large election to office for a
four (4) year term according to the method provided by statute. This Board shall be the
legislative department of the Village government and shall perform such duties and have
such powers as may be delegated by statute to it. Members of the Board of Trustees shall
take the oath of office as prescribed by statute.
SECTION 2: That Section 1-6-2 Oath and Salary be amended to read as follows:
1-6-2 A Salary/Health Insurance
A. Salary — Members of the Board of Trustees shall receive as
compensation the sum of six -thousand dollars ($6,000) per year,
payable in twenty-six (26) equal installments, said rate of
compensation to apply to all terms of office which commence by
taking the oath of office on or after May 1, 2009.
SECTION 3: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after
the commencement of the terms of the respective members of the Board of Trustees on or
after May 1; 2009.

NAYS: S. Lissner, N. Czarnik
ABSENT: None
