HomeMy WebLinkAboutPLAN COMMISSION - 09/19/1979 - BOLGER LANDSCAPING/CALKINS PETITION FOR REZONE i { • MINUTES Elk Grove Village Plan Commission September 19, 1979 The regular meeting of the Plan Commission was called to order by Chairman Kenna at 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 1979, in the Multi-Purpose Room of the Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue. MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Edward W. Kenna, Jr. , Chm. Donna O. Farley Leah Cummins, Secretary Frederick C. Geinosky STAFF PRESENT: John R. Glass Stephen M. Feller, George E. Mullen Administrative Assistant Orrin J. Stangeland Bolger Landscaping and Screening Plan Kenna began the discussion by relating that at the meeting on March 21, 1979, the Plan Commission recommended approval of the Bolger landscaping and screening plan subject to the provision of an acceptable surface for the center island located in the parking area. Terrence Bolger, Realtor, was present to represent the petitioner. Bolger proposed that the center island be sodded, and that after a period of 4-6 weeks, those areas which have been heavily travelled would be paved with an exposed aggregate material. The consensus of the Plan Commission was to accept Bolger's proposal. Calkins Petition for Rezoning ' Kenna noted that he would schedule a _P.ublic Hearing for October 17, 1979 on the petition of Robert P. Calkins for rezoning of a 6/10 acre lot located on the south side of Landmeier Road from I-Z to B-3. Geinosky expressed concern over the potential traffic problem which would be created as a result of the rezoning, and confirmed that the operating departments would review the rezoning request. Review of Zoning Ordinance Kenna announced the formation of a subcommittee to review the Zoning Ordinance and make recommendations on how it could be better organized. He then appointed Geinosky as Chairman of the subcommittee, with members to include Stangeland and Farley. Geinosky commented that the subcommittee would have a preliminary report prepared by December 1, 1979. Comprehensive Master Plan Kenna stated that the proposals to "update" the Comprehensive • Plan Commission Minutes - 2 - September 19, 1979 Comprehensive Master Plan (continued) Plan were due on September 21, 1979.
