sales office.
Fred Feinstein, Attorney, was present to represent the petitioner.
William Gillilan and Joe Luciani were also present representing Centex
Homes.
The Commission walked the Hampton Farms site in order to visually
observe the relationship of the existing and proposed Hampton Farms
dwelling units to the golf course, creek area, and the flood plain
preserve. In addition, the Commission walked the common open space
area, a portion of which would be transferred to a public corporation
if the Special Use Permit is amended in accordance with the petition.
Lewis Smith and William Newcombe, Golf Course Architect, described
the fairway locations, the buffering of the Hampton Farms subdivision
from the golf course by the existing trees and creek, and finally the
directions golfers will play.
After walking the Hampton Farms area, the Commission took a bus
tour of Section 24B utilizing University Lane extended. The petitioners
describe the area to be rezoned multi-family/recreational under the
text amendment and its relationship to the golf course and Section 23A.
The tour continued through Section 23 in order to observe the
open space (park land) adjacent to the Hampton Farms Subdivision and
available to the residents for recreational purposes.
