Shannon stated that the Resubdivision only showed an 80 foot front
yard line. Rettenbacher noted that the Resubdivision must be in error
because a 100 foot front yard line is required in an 1-2 District.
Shannon requested Rettenbacher to return the MIDCO Resubdivision for
correction.
Public Hearing: Docket 77-1
Steven Allenbogan was present to represent J . R. Gottlieb and
Associates, landlords for 2202 Landmeier Road. John Finnegan, Attorney
for Greyhound Lines, and Robert Wallace, Regional Director for Greyhound,
were present to represent the petitioner. The petitioners were requesting
a Special Use Permit for establishing a Greyhound Suburban Station in
an 1-2 District. The property to be utilized for the Greyhound Station
is located at 2202 Landmeier Road east of Busse Road.
Wallace stated that the buses would not travel on residential roads
and that the station would handle 3 to 5 buses daily.
Chief Jenkins questioned how much money would be on hand. Mr. Wallace
responded that there would seldom be more than $1 ,500 on the premises .
Hauser asked why Greyhound switched its decision to locate the
suburban station at Rolling Meadows. Mr. Wallace stated that Greyhound
was never committed to Rolling Meadows and that this belief was due to
premature publicity.
Rettenbacher stated that any ordinance that was decided should state
that Greyhound must stay out of the access lane. Shannon asked if there
were any questions from the public. There was no response. The Public
Hearing adjourned at 9:38 p.m.
Hauser made a motion to recommend, under Section 3.32 Special Uses ,
the granting of a special use permit for purposes of allowing passenger
service for Greyhound Lines at 2202 Landmeier Road. The station would
primarily serve as a package express center, which is a permitted use,
under the prevailing zone classification for this property. Cummins
seconded the motion.
Wesley noted after the motion was seconded that he wanted the Police
