The members present were:
. Steve Schwellenbach, Chairman
Dick McGrenera
Gayle Bantner
Leah Cummins
Bill Ballard
A discussion was held regarding the Texaco petition for re-
zoning. The Commission felt as follows :
1. Service stations should be located around the
periphery of the village.
2. The proposed location could possibly endanger
children going to and from school .
3 . This would be a spot zoning to which the Commission
is opposed.
4. It is not compatible with zoning of the surrounding
area.
5. The plat as presented is in violation of the muni-
cipal code.
Based on the above , plus other items as mentioned in the trans-
cript , Leah Cummins moved for the rejection of the petition by
Texaco. Gayle Bantner seconded it and the vote was unanimous .
The chairman was instructed to notify the village board.
On the Centex Industrial Park Unit 39 , Dick McGrenera moved
for the approval of the preliminary and final plats . Leah
Cummins seconded it. The vote was unanimous .
The Commission was notified it was to hold a pre-annexation
meeting for the property consisting of ten acres east of 83 ,
south of Devon, and also of a hearing for a proposed ordinance
regarding the power of the Board of Appeals to grant variations .
A tentative date of June 9 was set for the hearings .
The Commission received a letter from the Park Ridge Sand Company
concerning a "hardship case" arising as a result of ' s ffici.ent
right of way for a road.
