Resolution No. 39-93 <br />A'RESOLUTION ADOPTING AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PLAN <br />FOR THE VILLAGE OF ELK GROVE VILLAGE <br />WHEREAS, it is the policy of the United States Government to <br />insure the maximum participation of all available workers in <br />production, regardless of race, creed, sex,.age, color, religion, <br />national origin, disability (following the requirements of the <br />Americans with Disability Act), or ancestry; and <br />Whereas, it is the firm belief that the democratic way of <br />life within the Nation can be defended successfully only with <br />help and support of all groups within its borders, including the <br />Village of Elk Grove Village, by eliminating possible <br />discrimination in public and private employment; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been the policy of the Village of Elk Grove <br />Village to provide equal opportunity in employment to all <br />qualified persons; and <br />WHEREAS, the Village of Elk Grove Village has endorsed on <br />Equal Employment Opportunity Plan and Affirmative Action Program <br />to provide equal employment opportunities, and reaffirms this <br />policy and declares its commitment to support equal employment <br />opportunities through an Affirmative Action Plan, which is <br />attached to and part of this Resolution, by reference. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the corporate <br />authorities of the Village of Elk Grove Village, in furtherance <br />of this democratic objective, have enacted on the 27th day of <br />July, 1993, that it is an unlawful practice for any Department <br />Office or Commission to refuse to employ or to discharge any <br />
