RESOLUTION NO. 62-75 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO CAUSE AN INTER-CONNECTION BETWEEN VILLAGE <br /> WATER FACILITIES AND THOSE OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO <br /> WHEREAS, the Municipalities of Elk Grove Village, Schaumburg, Arlington <br /> Heights, Rolling Meadows and Hoffman Estates have expressed an interest in <br /> inter-connecting their water systems with those of the City of Chicago so <br /> as to provide each of the municipalities with a surface supply of water with <br /> guaranteed capacities so as to eliminate the uncertainties attendant to the <br /> providing of water through the means of wells; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is believed that there is availability of such water supply <br /> from the City of Chicago; and <br /> WHEREAS, to obtain such an inter-connection prior to 1980, there will be <br /> required an immediate plan, engineerin5 effort and negotiation leading to binding <br /> legal contracts between the various municipalities and the City of Chicago; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is necessary and appropriate that each of the municipalities <br /> adopt a Resolution indicating its intent to proceed with such inter-connections <br /> with deliberate speed. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of <br /> the Village of Elk Grove Village as follows: <br /> Section 1 : That the Village of Elk Grove Village does hereby resolve to <br /> inter-connect its water lines with those of the City of Chicago so as to obtain <br /> a dependable future surface supply of water from Lake Michigan. <br /> Section 2: That it believes that the foregoing can best be achieved by acting <br /> in concert with the other municipalities mentioned so as to share the cost of inter- <br /> connection and thereby achieve an economical and equitable result. <br /> Section 3: That as an incentive to the other municipalities, the Village of <br /> Elk Grove Village pledges that it will do all necessary including the expenditure <br /> of corporate or other funds and the direction of its employees and agents toward <br /> such purpose and that all actions taken by it in this connection will be done <br /> with deliberate speed so as not to impede the achievement of a common purpose. <br /> Section 4: That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and <br /> after its passage and approval according to law. <br /> - 1 - <br />
