RESOLUTION NO. 26-74 <br />A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE REVEREND J. WARD MORRISON <br />WHEREAS, on April 7, 1974, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison will be <br />honored on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of his ordination to <br />the Priesthood; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has been Pastor of the <br />Queen of The Rosary Church for over 14 years, the largest Church in <br />family membership in Elk Grove Village; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison with his dynamic person- <br />ality and through his capacity for human compassion, love for children, <br />friendship and understanding, has been a guiding factor in the growth <br />of the community and has enriched the spiritual lives of both parish- <br />ioners and non -parishioners; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison has done much to help the <br />poor and needy and the migrant workers in the area through monetary <br />contriFutions and in providing from the parishioners, donations of food <br />and clothing; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison was appointed on April 6, <br />1971 as Chaplain of the Elk Grove Village Fire Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Reverend J. Ward Morrison was chosen in 1969 as <br />"CITIZEN OF THE YEAR" by the Jaycees, receiving their 1st Annual Award; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is both fitting and proper that the Reverend J. Ward <br />Morrison be recognized for his many very special contributions. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of <br />Trustees of the Village of Elk Grove Village, Counties of Cook and <br />DuPage, State of Illinois. <br />Section 1: That the Reverend J. Ward Morrison is hereby <br />commended for his sustained service which has <br />provided a vital roll in the growth of the <br />Village and for setting an example for all men <br />by his love and faith in God and dedication to <br />his community. <br />Section 2: That on behalf of the Village we extend to him <br />our sincerest wishes for health and happiness, <br />which he so richly deserves. <br />Section 3: That this resolution shall be in full force and <br />effect from and after its passage and approval <br />according to law. <br />Passed this 2nd day of April 1974. <br />Approved this 2nd day of April 1974. <br />ATTEST: <br />Village Cle <br />
