MINUTES <br /> Elk Grove Village Plan Commission <br /> Date: Wednesday, September 3, 1986 <br /> Location: Council Chamber <br /> 901 Wellington Avenue <br /> MEMBERS PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: <br /> None <br /> John Glass, Chairman <br /> Leah Cummins, Secretary <br /> George Mullen <br /> Fred Geinosky <br /> Clark Fulton <br /> David Paliganoff <br /> STAFF PRESENT: <br /> Robin Weaver, Administrative Assistant <br /> John Coakley, Administrative Intern <br /> OTHERS PRESENT: <br /> Chuck Byrum, Attorney representing McLennan Companies <br /> James McLennan, President of McLennan Companies <br /> Vic Ballentino, Owner of Peppino's Restaurant <br /> John Terizakis, Partner with RJT Partners <br /> The meeting and the public hearing were called to order at <br /> 8:10 p.m. by Chairman Glass. <br /> MCLENNAN REZONING I-1 and B-3 to B-3 - 4.90 acres <br /> and I-1 and B-3 to I-1, 7.58 acres. <br /> (located east of Elmhurst Road between Touhy Avenue <br /> and Higgins Road) <br /> Chuck Byrum stated that McLennan Commercial and industrial <br /> Company was requesting rezoning of the property which lies <br /> approximately 276 feet east of Elmhurst Road between Touhy Avenue <br /> and Higgins Road. Byrum said that the requested rezoning would <br /> actually re-align the existing zoning to line up the commercial <br /> and industrial zoning to match the adjacent properties. Currently, <br /> the property is only one lot of which 6.46 acres are zoned I-1 and <br /> the remaining 6.04 acres are zoned B-3. The lots will be subdivided <br /> into four lots, two zoned B-3 and two zoned I-1. <br /> The current uses of the properties surrounding the McLennan <br /> property are as follows: On the north side is the Standard Oil tank farm <br /> and the mobile home trailer park zoned I-4 Special use in Cook County; <br /> Rogers industrial Park is located to the south; the Natural Gas Pipeline, <br /> a vacant lot and a chemical company are on the east side; and a <br /> restaurant zoned C-4 in Cook County is on the west side. <br /> Byrum said that the subject property was annexed to the Village <br /> in 1974 but has remained vacant for the past 12 years. He said that <br /> when the property was first annexed, Touhy Avenue was not a six-lane <br /> highway, and that the market in the area has changed in the past 12 years. <br />
