PLAN COMMISSION MEETING May 18 , 1966 <br /> The members present were: <br /> . Steve Schwellenbach, Chairman <br /> Dick McGrenera <br /> Gayle Bantner <br /> Leah Cummins <br /> Bill Ballard <br /> A discussion was held regarding the Texaco petition for re- <br /> zoning. The Commission felt as follows : <br /> 1. Service stations should be located around the <br /> periphery of the village. <br /> 2. The proposed location could possibly endanger <br /> children going to and from school . <br /> 3 . This would be a spot zoning to which the Commission <br /> is opposed. <br /> 4. It is not compatible with zoning of the surrounding <br /> area. <br /> 5. The plat as presented is in violation of the muni- <br /> cipal code. <br /> Based on the above , plus other items as mentioned in the trans- <br /> cript , Leah Cummins moved for the rejection of the petition by <br /> Texaco. Gayle Bantner seconded it and the vote was unanimous . <br /> The chairman was instructed to notify the village board. <br /> On the Centex Industrial Park Unit 39 , Dick McGrenera moved <br /> for the approval of the preliminary and final plats . Leah <br /> Cummins seconded it. The vote was unanimous . <br /> The Commission was notified it was to hold a pre-annexation <br /> meeting for the property consisting of ten acres east of 83 , <br /> south of Devon, and also of a hearing for a proposed ordinance <br /> regarding the power of the Board of Appeals to grant variations . <br /> A tentative date of June 9 was set for the hearings . <br /> The Commission received a letter from the Park Ridge Sand Company <br /> concerning a "hardship case" arising as a result of ' s ffici.ent <br /> right of way for a road. <br /> Respectfully submitted , <br /> W.R.
